The Ultimate Wishlist Item

Whoa. Geek out. Criterion has put together an Amazon.com-exclusive gift set for the holiday season. It's the entire Criterion Collection of DVDs (not including out of print titles). That's 241 titles for the low price of $4,999.
Plus the set comes with a special Certificate of Authenticity, though I don't know why anyone, even the geekiest of DVD collectors, would want to display a certificate proclaiming that, yes, they do own every Criterion DVD ever produced. Um, congratulations? Hmm, I wonder if they tried producing a slipcase to hold the set. That'd be a sight, for sure.
Anyway, this would be on my wishlist except for the fact that it's freakin' crazy to own every single movie in the Criterion Collection. Besides I don't like them all. (All right, I've already italicized three words in this post so far, that's enough. The buck stops here. ...Crap.) There are a few duds here and there like Armageddon, and there are some older critically acclaimed films that I just don't like, plain and simple. (8 1/2, I'm looking right at you.) Still, it would be nice to receive this as a gift. Y'know, something extravagantly excessive. Just imagine the amount of giftwrap needed to cover that package. Crazy.
