Daredevil: Director's Cut

I don't want to write a film review on the director's cut of Daredevil, that much-maglined cut-rate superhero flick from 2002, just because I don't feel like it. But suffice it to say that this new director's cut on DVD is a much improved edit of the movie, so much so that it becomes obvious that the theatrical cut was a total hack job. Now the story makes much more sense, characters seem better developed, and the whole tone of the movie is less camp and more somber.

It's not quite a perfect superhero film; it doesn't even measure up to X2 or Spider-Man 2. Plus I think that I can be minutely critical when it comes to a movie on Daredevil, my personal favorite superhero. But this new edit definitely takes the film into "thumbs-up" territory, whereas it was previously destined to be left in the forgotten bin. At this point, there's not much more I can ask for than that. You need to check out this DVD and give Daredevil a second chance. Let me know what you think -- significant improvement or not?
